   I direct wired this mirror into an available outlet at my bath vanity. I am pretty handy, but it still took me a little while even with intermediate “home” electrician skills. (I wouldn’t recommend a beginner trying to do this, better to get someone who know electricity and wiring.) I do wish that the lighted halo was brighter, so much so that as it is, it doesn’t provided enough light for me, whether the bathroom light is on or not.

   Quick summary…. the light in this fixture is almost useless. Everyone is correct, purchase a 100watt equivalent Candelabra base LED light of between 300k and 5000k and you will love it. There is a LOT of room for the bulb so don’t worry about thst. The oil rubbed bronze finish is BEAUTIFUL. The complete mirror assembly is very well built and sturdy. All of the joints have access covers to tighten or repair the wiring if ever needed. I purchased an oil rubbed mirror and will purchase another mirror very soon for another bathroom. This fixture will last a long time. Please note… the switch on the oil rubbed bronze is silver and yes it does look a bit out of place. I’m going to look for a plastic knob cover to go over the switch if I can.

   This mirror requires that you install a standard US electrical box in the horizontal orientation!
   Nowhere in the Installation Instructions does the manufacturer warn you of this important note!
   It was only AFTER I installed the box and went to install the mounting plate, in typical fashion, did I realize this mistake.
   To complete the installation in this vertical box orientation, I had to purchase longer 4mm x 0.7 metric screws, cutoff the screw heads and thread thru the mounting plate, into the electrical box mounting holes. With the appropriate length protruding from the box and mounting plate, I then locked down the screws with 2 additional 4mm nuts to hold the correct protruding thread length.
   Overall Rating is 1 because of this design error: they could have used a horizontal orientation for their plate mounting plate or more unique distance to not interfere with std 3-1/4″ electrical box mtg holes. OR, they could have put a Bold Type Font Warning in the Install directions!
   Also the bulbs provided are very dim and I will look for a higher wattage/brighter bulb for future use.

   I wavered on 10x magnification and 8x. The 8x lets you see your whole face up close. This light won’t replace additional needed light in your bathroom but definitely is an added plus. It’s a little stiff in movement as other reviewers have noted. This may remedy itself over time. My handyman wired it so that it turns on with the main light switch. Very classy. I feel like I’m at a fine hotel.

    High quality mirror with very neat installation because it is hard wired. No problem to change out the standard incandescent lamp with candelabra base and replace it with an LED version with the desired correlated color temperature (2700 to 3000 K) and color rendering index properties (CRI > 85). I bought this particular model to allow for LED lamp selection and replacement. No exposed power adapter and messy wires. Of course you have to route the 120 V wires to the unit from the backside.

    This is a decent quality cosmetic mirror. I like that it has a 1x magnification on one side and 8x on other side and you can just flip mirror around on its swinging holder to change views. Only critique is that there is only one brightness level for the built-in light. Not a big issue and knew it going in, but seems it could have been better with an adjustable light intensity
