   I had a makeup mirror similar to this for YEARS. It finally bit the dust. When I went to replace it, everything was LED and only 2-3x magnification. I tried 3 different types and brands and still ended up having to use a flashlight and glasses. I decided to check gigamirror.com for one with an incandescent light and higher magnification. Ta-Da! Now I can see! I knew I missed my old one but never realized how much. This mirror makes a world of difference whether I am putting on makeup or plucking my eyebrows. I am getting ready to order spare bulbs for it now—just in case. It is a little more expensive than the other mirrors I looked at but I would honestly be willing to pay twice as much for it. It is well worth it. OH….and the 3 levels of brightness from the touch feature are so convenient and the icing on the cake!

   I purchased an oval 7x vanity mirror about three years ago. While I never used the regular side of the mirror, due to my diminishing eyesight, the 7x was a big help. On the oval one, I could only view certain areas of my face at one time because my whole face would become distorted otherwise. In that, I did not own another similar vanity mirror I was somewhat pleased. Then I broke it!! I read several reviews and finally decided on Conair 3-Way Touch Control 7x mirror. WOW! It is impressive!! It is significantly taller than my oval one, which I love! The mirror itself is so much much bigger and my face is not distorted!! I love this mirror!!

   I’ve been using this mirror for 2-3 months
   Couple of points:
   – The black matte finish is nice, because it always looks clean.
   – The mirror can get a bit hot if I use it too long – very easy to do when staring at your face in 7x magnification. Lots of things to look at…
   – No issues with fog from my breath as I examine my face closely for extended periods of time.
   – It has 3 light settings, but I’ve found that I always want the brightest setting. Not sure how much use anyone will get out of the dimmer ones. Sometimes I wish the light was brighter
   – The touch feature works well. Yes, if you accidentally tap it with your hand, the light will go off/change modes, but it’s just as easy to turn it back on again. I used another touch-lighted mirror in the past and I had issues with it “magically” turning off and on without me touching it, but I don’t have that issue with this mirror.
   – The mirror has a great height for doing makeup/eyebrows.

   I have purchased this same mirror 6 times. The first time, I loved it and it lasted for years, so I ordered it again. Sadly, the light didn’t last long, but I reordered and tried again. I feel with each purchase, it has lasted shorter and shorter. This last time it only lasted 4 months. I’m not paying this much for a mirror when it only lasts 4 months.

   The mirror frame is nice looking and seems sturdy. The light provided, even on highest intensity, was disappointing and not as bright as my old mirror. I had ordered this one after reading the same complaint about most of the rechargeable mirrors, and one review stating that this was better than those. I averaged a 5 for appearance and sturdiness with a 3 for quality of light….

   I got this mirror thinking it would be a cute and functional addition to my vanity.

   Unfortunately only half my wish came true when I plugged it in and found I can barely get the touch light to work. It’s very spotty and the only way I can reliably get it to turn on and switch brightness is if I slap it. Hard.

   I’m hoping mine is faulty and I can get a new one sent that works better. 🙁

   UPDATE: the light will only tap once to turn on and then will not respond to touch after, so I now have to unplug it if I want it to turn off. Devastating. -.-

   I bought this mirror and it was great! BUT the light stopped working. It was too late to return to gigamirror.com, so I called conair. They said they no longer make the replacement bulbs for this and that they would replace it. I had to send photo proof that I cut the cord for warranty purposes. They sent me a “replacement” of a mirror that was smaller, a different color, different color light and half the price I originally paid. I sent that one back as well. I went back and forth with them about it and they stopped answering my voicemails and emails. So I’m out $80 for nothing. DO NOT BUY THIS even though it would be a great mirror. They do not make the replacement bulbs and they will not honor warranty

    I’ll start with the cons: probably not the best for travelling, but who cares!

    Now the pros: Size, Color, Style, Lighting, 7x Magnification, Usability … All great!

    I previously had a 10x, but had to be so close and at an exact distance to the mirror, that it was starting to hurt my eyes.

    If you don’t need the 10x for your specific needs, I would say a 7x magnification is just right!

    ***Keep in mind there’s a frame and lighting making the mirror’s viewable area smaller,
    so I do not recommend getting anything smaller than this size regardless of brand.

    I highly recommend this mirror!

    Update: 8yrs later this mirror is still truckin!!! Light still works just as great as the day i got it. I hope people love it as much as i do!

    Love this item. Two things to make a note of when purchasing: Light isn’t a white light. It is more of a setting for “night” makeup. Yellowish, if you will. And also the magnification side isn’t super close, if that makes sense. I think its a great mirror. I do wish the magnification was better, but its OK. The mirror is sturdy. The base is the only portion that you can touch to turn on and change brightness. My cat has rubbed against it quite a few times and it has not turned off on me. For those that say it is easy to change and turn off and can be frustrating… Just don’t touch the base. Simple as that. From the side it is thick. I’d say 3 or 4 inches. Maybe in the middle. It is a wonderful mirror and does its job. Shipping was quick as well!
