I wanted to give this mirror as a gift in hopes that it could be placed flat on a table as part of a centerpiece. Before ordering, I asked if the hook that is pictured on the back of the mirror could be removed, and someone responded that the hook was inset. That is not true. The hook is a metal bracket that is epoxied to the back of the mirror, and it cannot be removed without damaging the mirror. The bracket protrudes about 0.5 inches; therefore, this mirror cannot sit flat on any surface. Obviously, I couldn’t use it the way I had intended. Fortunately, my friend liked it enough to keep it to put in his entryway, so it wasn’t a total waste, but I was still disappointed.
